"The Rod & Gun is truly one of a kind! We’ve visited several times over the past eight years, including a memorable Thanksgiving stay with our two adult sons. Each trip has been a joy, and the memories we’ve created there mean so much to us. Sometimes we head out on the water with a local captain to fish; other times we simply stay a night or two to soak in the atmosphere—the inviting pool, excellent restaurant, charming town, and..."

"Absolutely freaking love this place. Its such a chill spot to relax and just be. The main building, clubhouse with a great restaurant and bar is like stepping back in time, with old mounts, reliks, and photos since the beginning of its time. Its a great home base for exploring, fishing, and all the other things things the Everglades has to offer, then come back to your cottage and sit around the fire and grill with your friends . Looking..."

"Stayed at the Rod and Gun club for night prior to a fishing trip. Loved the authentic old Florida charm! This place is the real deal and excellent location. Room was super clean and comfortable except it is was cold outside and the heater in the room didn’t work too great. There is no heat inside the main lodge building so if visiting in the winter dress warm . Dinner at the restaurant was delicious. Enjoyed the stay and will..."

"How many places make you feel good the second you walk through the door? Many years ago I found this place just 'going down the road' and I've returned and returned and returned. Great family-run unique hotel/restaurant....drinks and view....and most of all, just being comfortable. There will never be another one of these built so I would suggest you experience this one. I met relatives at The Rod & Gun Club as they were on the way to visit us..."

"The Rod and Gun Club is one of the most authentic and unique places to visit in Florida! When you’re there it truly feels like you are back in the old Florida we all know and love. Taylor and her family have done an amazing job at always giving true southern hospitality the moment you walk in. You feel this wave of warmth and love from the generations before when you walk into the building. I am a 8th generation..."

"Rod and gun club is an old Florida staple. Rustic and simple in its appearance but charming and an authentic old Florida feel. With all the new modern construction it’s refreshing to still have rod and gun club to visit. We go to the Everglades often just to have lunch and let the kids swim. Staff is so friendly. We love it!!!!?"

"Set your watch back to the bygone era of Old Florida, and luxuriate in the surroundings of a well worn lodge. Complete with original furnishings and super comfortable rooms for dining, drinking amd sharing tales about the fish that got away. The friendly and funny proprietress Patty and her lovely daughter Taylor (who doubles as Head Chef), make guests feel as if they are all part of the family. The pool area is zen, out back on the great lawn..."

"Had an excellent dinner at the restaurant. We both had seafood which was very fresh and perfectly prepared. Service was also excellent! The key lime pie was the absolute best we’ve ever had and worth a stop just for that. Definitely will be back. Can’t speak to the hotel or rooms, however, the lobby is super cool."
